Once there was a family. Not just any old family. They were royal. There was a king, a queen, and their daughter. Around their castle was a big wall. On the other side of the wall there was a forrest. In the forrest was a cabin. In the cabin was a witch. The witch had told the family to build a wall separating the forrest from the castle. But they could build a small door but they had to lock it and give her the key.
The king was very mad when he heard this. He asked the evil witch, "If we cannot come out of our castle how will we get our food?"
"Your servants may come out but not you or your family," said the witch.
"What will you do to us if we don't do what you say?" The king asked.
"I will put the most deadly curse on your whole family!" the witch answered angrily. Then she calmed down a little and mumbled, "The only way you can dodge being cursed is to do what I just told you."
Five years after the witch came, five years being stuck in their castle, the king and queen were miserable. One sunny day, the queen had her first baby. She named her Aurora. Two months later the king got worried. One night when they were sleeping, the king awoke the queen and said, "Meet me in the balcony. I want to talk to you."
When she got there, he looked at her in a sad way and said, "What are we going to do about Aurora?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean what about the curse? Soon, when she gets older she'll want to go outside. How are we going to tell her?"
"Let's just worry about that when we need to," the queen sighed. Then she went back to bed.
When Aurora was five, she ran up to her dad ad begged, "Daddy, can I go outside to play, please, please, please?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because the only thing outside is a forrest and the forrest is no place for you."
"But Dad, I've never gone outside in my life! Why can't I go outside?!" She was so loud the queen could hear her upstairs.
She came running down. "Aurora, what's wrong?" she asked when she saw Aurora pouting.
"Daddy won't let me outside," she said gloomily.
"He has got a right to keep you in," said the queen trying to explain.
"Why can't I go outside!?"Aurora yelled so loud she could be heard for miles. Even the witch could hear her.
"I think it's time to tell her," the queen told the king.
"Time to tell me what?" the princess asked with delight.
"Ten years ago a witch came to our castle. She told us to stay in our castle forever."
"Or else...?" asked the princess.
"Or else she would put a deadly curse on us. Well, actually, she told us we can go outside, but if we came back in our castle, something bad would happen."
"How do we know something bad will happen! For all we know she could just turn our hair into flowers!" She was really mad. She thought that her parents had tried to trick her.
The next morning Aurora ran up to her mom and said, "Mommy I don't want to be a princess anymore. I want to be a regular girl."
The queen looked at her in a surprised way. "Why not?"
"I don't want to live in a castle that could be cursed."
"But honey,it's every girls' dream to become a princess."
"Yeah, I know, but it's every princess' dream to become a normal girl."
The queen looked at her in an odd way and said, "Maybe."
Later that night, the queen told the king what the princess had said.
"I don't want to live in a castle that could be cursed either," said the king.
"I...I suppose when she gets older we could runaway and never come back again," stammered the queen.
"Or we could build a small cabin outside, but you heard what the witch said. We can go outside but if we ever come back in something bad will happen. I wonder why she did not tell us what will happen."
Three years later, the king told the queen it was time. "Time to become regular people," answered the king.
The queen ran into the princess's bedroom and gasped, "Grab your possessions and meet me and Daddy downstairs." The princess looked surprised, but she grabbed her favorite stuff and ran downstairs. Her parents were waiting for her downstairs.
She had a confused look on her face. "What's going on?" she asked. Her parents just looked at her.
"We're leaving."
"What!?" shouted the surprised princess.
"Three years ago you told us that you wanted to leave and see the world. I talked to your father and he said sure."
"When I told you I wanted to be a normal girl, I didn't think you'd actually leave!" said Aurora with surprise.
Soon they left the castle. Aurora had soon found out that she had forgot her favorite little music box in her room. She told herself that she couldn't live without it. Later that night when her parents were sleeping, she decided to sneak back into the castle and grab her music box. Of course she didn't believe in the curse or she wouldn't be going back to the castle.
It was very hard to see. Everything was pitch black. Finally she found her way to the front door of the castle. The door was unlocked. She slowly walked in. She turned on some lights. Then she ran upstairs and grabbed her music box. When she came back down she saw two black knights. "Hmmm. . . I don't remember seeing those here," she said looking at the knights.
Just when she was about to walk out, she died.
You're probably wondering how. Let's just say the castle turned into a haunted mansion.
The End!
